12… 500… 3… 37.000
Do you have an idea what these numbers mean? Probably not. (And any other answer would be worrying anyway.)
So let me put them all in a couple of sentences to explain.
The Croatian edition of this blog has been around for 12 years and during that time I have built a collection of about 500 recipes. Then, 3 years ago, when I had my hands full, dealing with my daughter’s medical condition, some weird hackers barged in, filled the website with links leading to sites that sell little blue pills for men (they could have gone for something less deja-vu) and changed 37.000 Croatian characters into question marks.
Those 37.000 question marks are part of the reason why this website overhaul lasted so long, but there is more to that story and the main part is:
I want to provide you with quality and well-organized content.
What does this mean exactly?
Well, for starters (and this is the biggest change) the English and Croatian blogs are now a single website with a language switch and all the content published from now on will be available in both languages.
What else do you need to know? If you want to…
- browse recipes by season
- shop for cookbooks online
- read about my Dubrovnik restaurant
- check out my food photography portfolio
- see ways to work with me
- or contact me if you have an idea of your own
And if you’re new around here and don’t know me that well, head over here to shake virtual hands.
And whether you’re an old or a new visitor, there’s one thing I’d like to suggest: subscribe to the newsletter.
You know me, I don’t have too much time to type so you can be sure that I won’t cram your inbox. Even though Facebook and Instagram are beautiful places to connect, in the near future I would like to start foodie convarsations via email and… face to face.
Stay tuned, in a couple of days I will post about a live event I’m hosting and then a delicious wintertime recipe will follow. If you allow me into your inbox, you’ll know the posts are live as soon as I hit “publish”.
I am so looking forward to this new beginning!
Now it’s your turn – do you like the blog’s new look? Any comments/suggestions?
